Neighborhoods

An overview of each of Southside City's hoods.

Good to know: Southside City proper is comprimised of five main neighborhoods. Each has its own unique aesthetic, purpose, and flavor.

Central City

Central City is compromised of the area immediatly surrounding the central spawn point extending towards the western mountain range to the Ocean Beach canal. Home to key structures such as the Train Station, Vaporwave Mall, and Federation Square, this neighborhood can be compared to the Times Square of Southside City. Enjoy exploring gleaming highrises with massive billboards lighting the compact alleyways in a cyberpunk-esque landscape.

Inspired by Tokyo, San Francisco, and New York City.

Portside

This neighborhood is located directly southwest of Central City, aptly named to due its proximity to the metaverse's main marina and port. Defined by its mid-rise apartments and expansive art galleries, Portside provides perhaps the most relaxed enviorment in Southside City; perfect for constructing something like a lofi-cafe. The southernmost point of Portside is designed by the Stadium District, home to PVE and PVP wager events.

Inspired by Seattle and Montreal.

Ocean Beach

Effectively metaverse Miami. Enjoy beautiful scenic drives alongside the Pacific coast, where luxurious villas, high rises, hotels, and the extravagant Ocean Beach boardwalk are all just blocks away from each other. If you're looking for the seedier part of town, simply drive off into the canal zone where strip clubs, warehouses, and industrial developments shelter some of the city's hardened criminals. Or, if you're looking for the most luxurious homes, head to the Mountain Hills district where you can find gorgeous modern mansions with their own private driveways.

Inspired by Los Angeles, Playa Del Carmen, and Miami.

Eastside

Welcome to the hood. Following the Second Federation War, massive amounts of pubic housing projects were created on the eastern part of the city. Yet with government corruption and neglect, criminal elements soon swooped in to effectively establish this neighborhood as its own autonomous no-go-zone. Shotgun houses, dangerous alley ways, tenements, and a massive industrial canal all mark the most notorious neighborhood in the metaverse. But hey, it might be perfect for your virtual drug smuggling operation.

Inspired by Oakland, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh.

Vegas Island

Detatched from the Southside mainland, Vegas Island is its own microcosim of mafias, gangs, and corrupt police running the elitist gambling center of the Federation. Filled to the brim with oppurtunity, Vegas Island is perfect for an entrupenuer seeking to develop a casino, an exhbition center, a gallery, or anything of the sorts. The mountainous area of the island offers a quieter vacation community, home to the Oasis Lake district. But be careful, when so much $SSC is in the air, this neighborhood has powers at play that probably shouldn't be messed with.

Inspired by Las Vegas (obviously. cmon) and Maui.

Micro Neighborhoods: Technically not considered a part of the five major neighborhoods due to being extremely sparsely populated, micro neighborhoods are home to some interesting areas.

Private Islands

Situated in the Pacific Ocean, the Southside City private islands are comrpomised of three islands in a gorgeous archipeligo. Little is known about the future of these islands, as each owner of them is free to develop them into how they see fit.

The Mountains

Compromised of the expansive federal mountain range that borders the northern side of Southside City proper, this area is a wild and rural... moonshine central.

Diablo Mountain

A prominent feature of the Central City skyline, Diablo Mountain might hold a few secrets deep within its twisting trails and caverns.

The Deep Dark

Those who venture too far into the Pacific Ocean might find things that they wish they wouldn't have seen....
